Dr Louise Grayson has worked as a photo journalist for 20 years across more than 30 countries, undertaking projects as varied as AusAID-funded work in Mozambique, Ethiopia and Papua New Guinea; and exhibiting her photographs on the walls of a 14th-century French village.

Louise started her career as a newspaper journalist before moving into academia as a lecturer in journalism, media and communication at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), where she has worked for more than a decade.

She is currently taking a ‘mid-life gap year’ to complete a series of projects that have been left dangling for too long.
